Sent me the wrong product; neither their US nor UK number works; they asked if Id worn a returned shoe which is absolutely preposterous. Still waiting on them to initiate my refund. Despite free shipping on my order I received a bill from FedEx which The Rake has not resolved and seemingly does not know how to resolve. Just a nightmare. Update: they are falsely accusing me of wearing a shoe which I returned immediately upon receipt because it didnt fit. They are refusing to refund me my $700 for the shoes. Avoid this company at all costs for your own good.

Used to be a decent read back in about 2015, but has become more and more focused on sales of products, to the point where it isn't a menswear magazine but rather an overpriced menswear retailer, I understand they are selling luxury brands, but the markup you pay to buy through The Rake is very high, I've seen Rubinacci stuff going for half or less of the prices listed on The Rake. Would have given The Rake a 2* rating but the 5* review from their marketing director (Drew) is totally dishonest and brings them down to a 1* EDIT: The Rake continue to have their staff leave false positive reviews, Baptiste Rosset is their VIP client manager

The purpose of this review is just to strongly warn everyone out there that you cannot trust this organisation The Rake. Be very careful indeed when considering spending your money at The Rake. I have found myself in precisely the same situation as other reviewers' experiences expressed here. Absolutely terrible customer services; phones never get answered, when emailing with Jamie and then Emily at customer services, Jamie first does not reply for 7 weeks until I again request a reply. Then in his reply he does not answer what I originally asked, sidestepping the awkward question. He passes me on to Emily, the Customer Services manager who then further avoids answering the very specific questions that I am asking, one passing me to the other but neither actually answering the all-important specifics. The Rake quotes guidance and conditions that they claim has been given to The Rake by one of their shop suppliers in order to justify their position but when I check with the shop directly this turns out not to be true - no such guidance or conditions were given. The original issue was that I purchased an item in The Rake summer sale; price was agreed, payment was made by me and payment was accepted by The Rake. Then, out of the blue The Rake claimed that the item was no longer available and that my payment would be refunded, yet I continued to see the item available at various prices - full price and reduced - over the following weeks. I am currently in the process of following legal advice over the matter, explaining to The Rake that The Rake entered into an agreement with me by accepting my payment for a product clearly advertised on their site and that they are legally obliged to honour it and supply the product to me at the price agreed between us. The Rake is neither at present honouring this obligation nor is it behaving in any sort of decent way. I will of course be continuing this action for as long as it takes. I once again strongly warn everyone out there that you cannot trust this organisation The Rake. Be very careful indeed when considering spending your money at The Rake.

Disappointing all round, unfortunately. Was charged a hefty 17.50 for postage, only for the delivery to arrive a week late as they kept saying my address was wrong, which it wasn't. Trying to arrange a refund was needlessly difficult, with no guidance as to where the nearest FedEx drop off was - the 2 I visited didn't deal with national postage. Tried to arrange a pickup on 3 consecutive days which never happened. I ended up having to post them back to The Rake at my own expense over 2 weeks ago and I am still waiting for the refund to be processed. I know the inadequacies of FedEx are beyond their control, but customer service seems to be in no real rush to do anything. Phone lines are switched off so you have to rely on email with at least a couple of days until a reply. Not what I expected from a brand marketing itself as high-end. Needless to say, I won't be shopping with them again.
