Both of our hosts, Lesley and Roger, were friendly, inviting and made sure our needs were taken care of: England experienced a major power outage, so Lesley couldnt cook our meal; we had a small camp stove, but it didnt work with the butane gas can we bought at Cotswold, Roger had one, so we were able to use it to cook our backup soup and noodles for dinner. The double bed slept well, and the separate bathroom has a huge tub, which is perfect for relaxing in after a day of walking. The house location is definitely off the beaten path, but in a beautiful, tranquil setting. We ended up taking the long way to the house over the Common from Offas dyke down towards Bigsweir Bridge; I definitely suggest calling the Farmers and asking about the shortcut from the Common above down to their home or you could try and find it on Google maps. One thing that you should be aware of is that they have a dog that lives with them, so the dog smell is noticeable in the shared living and dining area. Personally, I dont like the smell of a dog in the living or dinning area and wished we had known ahead of time.
