My son and I work at Fonthill House on a regular basis and admire the passion and dedication the staff display so openly. It is a clean, happy and friendly place where nothing is too much trouble for the staff. It's clearly a well managed home and I would be very happy to send any of my friends or family there.

After seeing the job descriptions offered by this company I decided to take a closer look at the opportunities available, what services they offer and how staff and service users feel about this company. So far I have noticed many conflicts of interest in the reviews here on Google, most genuine reviews seem to be negative, one mentioned something rather concerning. Online presence seems upstanding but all I'm hearing about is the management issues, I'll be back to add to this review upon further interactions with the company.

I joined Fonthill 3 years ago during the pandemic. My decision to leave a large NHS trust and join Fonthill was planned pre pandemic. It was such a difficult time of stress and facing the unknown and changing jobs during the first few months of the outbreak. Nathan and senior management made it paramount to protect our vulnerable residents and kept it out of the home during the worst times. Staff were provided with optimum personal protection which no doubt saved many lives. I have felt totally supported as an employee and Fonthill allows me to deliver my ethos in care, thus I am able to support and deliver compassionate and holistic care, treating everyone individually and therefore meeting their unique needs. I would not hesitate to have my loved ones in Fonthill if ever required.

Fonthill House is a fantastic place to work, with the opportunity to progress careers. I began as a care assistant out of sixth form with little confidence or experience in a workplace environment when the care home opened in 2013, and was supported and trained up extensively by a knowledgeable, kind and patient team throughout the induction process. Fonthill ensured I felt able to ask questions and that my competency was continually assessed to be at the highest standard, offering new information and research as it appeared so I could develop my skills and knowledge. What began as a small team quickly built up, and we were all offered the opportunity to complete a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care to further our knowledge which I happily accepted so I could further apply what I had learned to our residents. I immediately gained a rapport with our residents and enjoyed hearing their stories and spending time with them. I would love supporting them to their family homes, on outings to The Ritz, Henley river cruises and other adventures, or simply playing a game of boccia with a resident and some tea; no two days were the same. Id also accompany residents to appointments where required and offer them comfort and guidance as well as a social opportunity. As my experience developed, I was offered the opportunity to learn management skills in a senior carer position, shadowing the nursing team and extending my knowledge and responsibilities further. I did this for several years before training externally to become a teacher in further education for young adults with a wide and varied range of profound and multiple learning disabilities. Following this, I was invited to coordinate the holistic, differentiated and person-centred care of our residents with learning disabilities, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care and have a true quality of life which isn't limited by their disabilities. What puts Fonthill above and beyond other care providers is the huge range of specialist input, both onsite and externally from GPs, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, music therapists, dieticians, occupational therapists, and more, as well as our 24 hour nursing and 1:1 care for those that require it, as well as the support of a truly brilliant housekeeping and hospitality team who are on hand to help at any given moment. The support, motivation, and resources Fonthill have offered to further my career have been brilliant and I am proud to have earned an established position in their company. Fonthill promise to reward hard work and initiative with great pay, a wonderful team, and a sense of value and I would highly recommend it as not only a career path, but a true community and home for our wonderful residents.
