We wanted composite decking, and from the moment we contacted Greensquares to final delivery, the service was excellent. This is what really differentiated TimberTech from other companies, and the reason we went with them. From the outset, we were allocated a dedicated advisor (Fraser), who provided free samples (unlike other companies) and demonstrated an interest in our needs. He answered all our queries, and the quote was competitive. Fraser also pointed us at other things that we (as novices) would have overlooked - like having fascias and the typical amount of wastage to allow for when ordering. After our order was placed we had a sales advisor (Ben) look after us. There was a slight hiccup on the actual delivery date, as we were advised that part of our order (fascias) would be arriving separately. A quick email to Ben clarified the issue. The delivery guy was also very friendly and very helpful, as you need two people to offload the boards from the lorry to your house.

From the moment we contacted TimberTech, I should have known that this was not going to end well. Their service of "designing" the decking was poor - I sent up detailed plan and they still managed to get the amount of decking required completely wrong - it took 3 trials and we still ended up with too much decking! Then we placed the order, arranged for a fitter and his work mate to attend our place, got a call from the delivery company to say that they would arrive at 7am but that they would not unload their lorry (due to the dreaded H&S reasons!) so we arranged the fitter and his mate to be on site at 7am and paid for their time. The lorry turned up at 9am having apparently driven for 5 hours from Reading to East London. The driver stayed in his lorry and watched us unloading the decking planks. Quality wise : the special screws that TimberTech sold us were useless as we were using a composite joist (we returned them but at first TimberTech were refusing to refund the opened packet - How is one supposed to find out the screws work without opening a pack is beyond my comprehension). About 10% of the planks were so buckled that they were not usable. We complained to TimberTech and after several weeks of back and forth and threatening legal actions - we got the money back for the screws - nothing else. The deck looks good but far too much hassle to give more than 1 star. Oh and we had to pay to dispose of the faulty planks.
