Fantastic club. Top drawer knowledge and coaching skills at this club, as well as good range of equipment, but the best thing is that it helped me instantly settle in to St Albans after moving here. I have struggled to find a path to competition in boxing over the years, and since starting at the Boxing Laboratory I have been very excited about the prospect of competing though the club. To add to this, the club is a really nice, friendly, social environment. Its a great club, and also has had a big impact on my overall feeling about moving to the area, and Im looking forward to keeping up training here while I look to compete.

I train with Ian at Boxing Laboratory and I couldnt have had a better experience - going from a complete newbie having never put a pair of boxing gloves on to now feeling completely confident when training. Very understanding and patient coach who can also push your limit higher and higher.

Terrific for all ages. I love it that Andy makes people welcome whatever decade they're in. (It's not necessarily easy to turn up at a boxing gym if you're a woman in your late sixties like I am, but he never turned a hair, took care to set the program at the right level for me - safe but still challenging - took me seriously, made it seem the most natural thing in the world for me to be there.) I took up boxing when I was in the doldrums after I retired from psychiatric nursing and its really a fantastic sport for older people! Im never going to fight a round, never going to risk the headshots, but, no kidding, the training has got me fitter than I was in my thirties. I love that. And even more, I love the mental health workout. Makes me feel great, confident, calm, sharp, full of energy. (I wish Id understood this when I was working Id have been campaigning for my patients to go to a boxing gym rather than taking pills.) Andy is hugely encouraging as a coach, and Id love it if we had a whole class full of people my age all encouraging each other, keeping ourselves young. Highly recommended.
