A really excellent academy. It is full of friendly people that will make you feel welcome regardless of your experience or fitness level. The class is coached with a great focus on the finer details and done so in a way that is easy to digest. You have nothing to lose by at least trying the intro class and everything to gain!

Great place to train, very welcoming for a beginner of 41 years old and friendly atmosphere.

I am pleasantly surprised at the level of praise this club is receiving. Having seen these showers of positive reviews I took my 4 year old for a trial session. I was not told that I needed to be there early and since I walk it was relatively difficult for us to find the place within the college in the dark and we were about 10 minutes late. The class had already begun and my child was asked to quickly remove their trainers and socks and get on the mat, which they did. My child is a relatively shy child and the decision to take them to Jiu Jitsu is to become more confident and to overcome their shyness, alongside the numerous other benefits. Instructor David showed them one of the activities the other children were doing, and since it was my child's first attempt they were reluctant to copy them, which I think is natural for a 4 year old, every child is different. The instructor was with my child for a maximum of 3 minutes and straight away told me that my child is not interested in this. They are not ready to do this. David did not even attempt to encourage my 4-year-old one bit. So, I am really surprised about the other comments about guidance and being welcoming. They didn't want to listen to my attempting comments on how it's her first time - the only response I got was "from experience I can tell if a child will strive here or not". Consequently, and shocked at the way my child and me were treated we were sitting down and watching. My child soon took her socks off by herself again and started doing the exercise David had demonstrated before. This immediately disproved David's initial comment about my child striving in the 2 minutes he spent with her. The instructor did not take the time to talk to me afterwards about what he thought and nor did the secretary- we packed our things and left. If you are a confident, outgoing, talented 4 year old, then this place is definitely for you. If you are a typical, shy, reluctant 4 year old in a new environment with people you have never met before, the instructor will not attempt to show you something more than once in one way, and will judge your child based on their attitude within 5 minutes, whether they are fit for Jiu Jitsu or not. For me, I was scared whether this had completely destroyed my child's confidence level, which is highly possible. However, when she came out she simply responded "I like karate mummy, just not here". I think we know the feeling in places where we are welcome.
