Previously had good haircuts here but unfortunately I booked the cut and blow-dry for curly hair and it's the worst one I've ever had. I specifically asked for my hair to be cut so it rested on my collar bone and pointed to where I wanted it, even though this was acknowledged I didn't realise until the blow-dry that an additional 2 inches+ had been cut. As someone who has curly hair this means it's going to be even shorter as well. It's not worth 56 and I won't be coming back because this can't be fixed.

I would give only 1 star purely because the hairdresser was nice. I am writing today to tell you about my experience at the salon, which has made me decide I will not be returning to this salon nor would I recommend this place to anyone I know. I am just wanting you to be aware of my experience so you can improve for future customers. I had booked a full head colour, haircut and blowdry on Wednesday 25th January. I requested a full head colour to go a warm chocolate brown from my black hair. I spent 4.5 hours at the salon and left with mostly black hair. I was explained by the hairdresser that with black hair it may be difficult to get the full colour from the dye however I have seen countless friends with black hair have their hair coloured with not much difficulty so I am not entirely sure why colouring my hair brown was not successful. I called the next day to book a re-do as I would expect that after spending over 150, my hair would look somewhat different to before I came to the salon. This was booked easily and I was happy that it was pretty straightforward to explain why I was not happy and have this sorted. On the day of my re-do appointment I was explained by the hairdresser that I will not be able to get the whole head colour I wanted and I could either get a refund for my original appointment or have some lighter streaks put into my hair, which is not something I wanted. We both agreed on the refund option and I went to the desk to request this. I was told by one of staff members that Pins & Pinups do not offer refunds and if I do not want the re-do and want my refund, I would have to give my bank details to the hairdresser who was standing right there and he would have to pay me directly himself as this would be deducted from his pay. I don't understand why this needed to be said in front of a customer. I found this whole exchange unbelievably unprofessional. I cannot believe this is how refunds are arranged in this salon. I was essentially guilt tripped, which is how I felt, as the lady at the reception made a point to tell me that refunds come out directly from the hairdressers pay and put me in such an awkward position as I would only be able to get a refund if the hairdresser made a bank transfer to me there and then! I just decided to leave the salon as I did not want to engage in the conversation any longer. I was embarrassed and had already made my mind up that I would never be returning to this salon after that experience. I hope from my experience, you can work on your customer service by your desk staff and also have a less humilating way to arrange a refund. Simply asking me to email my bank details so a refund could be arranged would have been more professional, without having 3 people staring at me as I make a decision on whether I accept a bank transfer from the hairdresser. This salon really needs to improve on their customer service as I found the lady at the desk (I did not get a name) very rude with the way she spoke to me today and based on her manner alone, I would never recommend this salon.

I booked in advance with Lena to get a haircut and hair colour. Came in on the day only to be told Lena doesnt do hair bleach/hair lightening and she herself also said its gonna take far too long (even though I booked in advance, there was time AND the salon was quiet) it just did not add up. I discovered her social media and its full of bright popping hair colours. I even explained it was my birthday in two days, as well as living an hour away and nothing was offered to me(discount or alternative).Instead left with a haircut done also with another person for whatever reason. From this point I felt so uncomfortable and uninvited. The lady that cut my hair was nice and the previous staff that coloured my hair in the previous years had left hence why I left just the 2 stars. People should be aware of this this is a great example of being selective towards their customers it doesnt matter what you think this is exactly what I experienced and it must be because Im Asian? Awful
