I have nothing but praise and good reviews for this opticians and their staff, until this week when receiving an email stating that they no longer have free NHS eye tests for pensioners as they are now a private practice. This came as a shock,so being on a pension I am very sorry to be leaving.

All of the team are friendly, knowledgeable and professional, nothing is too much trouble for them. Their attention to detail with regard to Covid is excellent. They use state of the art equipment, where necessary, to pinpoint problems and have a wide variety of frames. I enjoy my appointments!

I have been a patient of this practice for many a year. They are par excellent in every way. Nothing but nothing is too much trouble for them.

After not visiting Molsoms during the Covid outbreak or since, I decided to pop in to the shop and make a long overdue appointment. I was surprised to find a locked door and after looking around saw a sign explaining that Covid restrictions were still in place and someone would answer the door, which they did with a greeting of yes? I was taken aback and said I would like to make an appointment and reluctantly I was allowed through the door to the desk where I was told only advanced eye tests were carried out at a cost of 96 to which I replied as Im 67 years old I have free eye tests. Were a private practice now. If you want NHS you will have to go elsewhere I asked if they had notified their customers which she said they had but as I explained I have had no e mail contact or letter from them. So do you want to book? was the reply. I said I wouldnt be booking and left. I was so upset, angry and disappointed to be treated that way. I can absolutely afford to pay if necessary but I wont be giving my money to such rude people. And I wouldnt recommend anyone to go to Molsoms ever.
