Visited for dinner, started well, nice food lots of choice, the service slowed and seemed a bit distracted but otherwise a great place to eat and reasonable prices too. Thankyou. Food & drinks: Good value for money

Really disappointing- Mediocre food and chaotic service. We booked for an evening meal as the website and sample menus looked promising. We arrived at what was a very tired, grubby version of the nice bright restaurant wed seen on the website. We waited patiently at the bar for a previous diner to pay (he seemed like hed been waiting there for some time) as he was sat at our table. Another couple arrived and were sat, meaning that it took even longer for our table to be cleared (unless they specifically requested that table, which didnt seem to be the case, im not sure why we werent just sat there to make the whole process quicker). The service was friendly enough and our order was taken promptly. The first course of a fish platter to share came out alarmingly quickly. It seemed as though it had been sat around for a while, meaning that the salad garnish was a wilted mess and the aoli had that clear, jellied layer that develops when you leave it out just slightly too long. We certainly cant complain about the portion size, however, as there was enough taramasalata to repopulate the north sea. The second course of their famous burgers were ok, but quite expensive at 16 each with no chips, salad or garnish. The presentation was uninspiring, with each burger sat on a napkin, a useless practice which I personally cant stand. The waitress admitted that despite being told she had no idea which was which, so chucked them in front of us rather inelegantly and went off to get us some more cutlery which hadnt been replaced after the first course. They tasted fine, but nothing mind blowing. At the end of the meal we had to stare down a staff member chatting behind the bar as the waitress clearing the table next to us seemed oblivious to us asking her for the bill. Once wed got someones attention the bill was delivered promptly, but the card machine never materialised so we had to go to the bar to pay. We paid without leaving a tip (the card machine presented to us just had the amount we owed and no option for a tip, and we were inclined to agree). We left after about an hour feeling full of taramasalata and regret, as our budget for this holiday only stretched to one meal out.
