My grandad Robert was in this nursing home for 6 weeks, and in those six weeks he was looked after brilliantly. although I sadly cant say the same for the communication during his time in there and aftercare for our family after he passed. We were not informed of when he went into hospital when he was extremely sick, which we thought wouldve been a priority for the nursing home to inform us so we could be with him. We had to get a call from him instead. Sadly My grandad passed away on Friday the 10th of May, That same night my mum informed the nursing home that she would pick up his things the next day. Janet was lovely on the phone sharing her condolences and sympathy But this cant be said for the lady they met the next morning- she and my brother arrived to be told my grandads stuff hadnt been boxed and they knew where his room was and to let themselves out of a side door after they were done collecting his things, This in my opinion is HIGHLY unprofessional and very insensitive, with no offer to help, no apology, nothing. This couldve been very upsetting for anyone who had just lost their father the day before. His care was lovely- he was a very Happy man and had no complaints during his time in there, but the family has been treated with no respect or sympathy after his passing, and if he had deteriorated any sooner than he did, he wouldnt of been able to call us and inform us of him being taken in by ambulance. And he may not have had anyone with him in his final days, Which Is a horrid thought. Luckily, My grandad passed with his family around him.
