A surprise phone call 18months ago from Anglia Research lead me through a fascinating time resulting in a wonderful cheque heading my way. Initially was wondering what was going on as a distant family member had past away and alot of work needed to be done to track beneficiarys down. In stepped the incredible Eileen Butcher from Anglia a dedicated manager ensuring communication was smooth and kept me up to date with the process as the journey came to an end. A special mention also to Nicki Brumby at Wolsey for excellent communication & plenty of documents for signing over the months making my job a doddle Kind regards & thank you Geoff Ormesher

I used Anglia Research to confirm both an adoption and to locate a beneficiary whilst managing an estate. Alex was helpful and clear at all times in our communications, ensuring I fully understood what was possible and what my options were. The actual process of engagement was very smooth and I was shocked at how quickly he came back to me with the requested information. I would highly recommend both the company and Alex, and if I need to use this type of service in future I'll definitely be in touch.

I guess like most people who receive a call out of the blue from a company like, this instinctively you feel that it must be a scam. Nothing could be further from the truth as members of my family engaged with Eileen Butcher from Anglia who was efficient and respectful in equal measure. Lovely lady

As with many other people it was a bit of a shock to be contacted by Eileen advising that a relative of my mother had died intestate. Hesitant at first it soon became apparent that this was not a scam. Eileen explained the procedure and what paperwork was required from me to make a claim application. Professional throughout and after a lot of hard work from her persuading other relatives to apply the inheritance came through. Never thought anything would come of it but myself and lots of cousins etc have benefitted. Thank you.

So you get a phone call along the lines of "Hello, I'm a Probate Genealogist, a long lost relative of yours has passed away with no Will in force and you may be a beneficiary...." and you can imagine my first thoughts! Thank goodness I did not put the phone down there and then....Eileen Butcher of Anglia Research proceeded to give me information about my family, some of which I knew, but more of which I definitely didn't know! Eileen completely understood my caution about confirming too much too soon, and made sure that I had all her contact details and information before I went away to do my own "due diligence". After a few phone calls to my relatives to confirm the information that I'd been given, and some time clarifying Anglia Research's credentials, as well as some other bits of detective work, it was clear that Eileen's approach was indeed genuine. There then followed a couple of weeks of phone calls and email exchanges with Eileen, each time with new nuggets of information changing hands. It led to fantastic new friendships being forged on the other side of the world with relatives that I previously did not know even existed, and in my opinion, was the real "money can't buy" legacy of our recently deceased family member. Of course, Eileen's remit was to track down all remaining relatives of the deceased person, for the Solicitor who was handling their Estate. As a result, less than a year later, all those long-forgotten and unknown relatives received a share of the residuary estate. The sums involved were not "life-changing", but the newly forged friendships and relationships certainly have been. One result of our journey has been that I have begun collating a Family History which has sprung up many surprising and interesting stories. We've also been able to identify traits that "run in the family", both medical and behavioural. There are not many jobs in this world that literally and actually change people's lives for the better, but Probate Genealogists definitely fall under this list. That first phone call takes you down a rabbit hole where you discover some wonderful things. So, if you are reading this review because you've had a call from Anglia Research, and even better, if you've had a call from Eileen herself, you are in for a journey of discovery and surprises, with a professional who also has a great sense of humour laced in with tact and diplomacy. Very happy to highly recommend.
