19/02/23 Lunch time. Bit disappointed by the trio of fried pizza, for a tenner I was expecting more especially as the anchovies were missing onnthe anchovy fried pizza! Same with the cannoli, definitely not as well served as previously. 12/07/22 Another visit. No disappointment. Pizze are still excellent. Good, puffy, charred dough ! Fresh ingredients. Polenta fries are thick and very tasty: a must try. 04/06/22 Second visit. Pizzas were even better this time round! Tried the place for the first time. There was no table available so we sat at the bar counter (not an issue unless you have smaller child(ren)). Menu has starters and pizzas (no salad or pasta dishes), desserts and a good selection of Italian beers (not just the old Peronis!). Arrancini are large, filling and beautifully made. Onto the pizza! Be warned the garlic bread is made with pizza dough so quite filling (I am sure you Leighites are used to that thin garlic bread from that other place called Irm.. ). Pizzas are Napoletana style and they are good although the level of hydration in the dough make the pizza base nearly "al dente" aka very wet(basically don 't expect a dry pizza base! ). The Mortadella is excellente (stuffing but excellente!) no tomato base, plenty of Mortadella. Queen Margharita also very good. Choice of dessert is not massive and has the traditional tiramisu, panna cotta and cannoli....but damn! the cannoli are good!!! Espresso is made with Chimney Fire Coffee (yep no Illy or Lavazza but hey...). Service is friendly. Warning always contentious to automatically add 12% to the bill. I believe this should be the client's prerogative to leave service charge.
