Very quick referral from GP to Chartwell Hospital, I was seen within weeks. I was an extremely nervous patient but everything went to plan and had sedation to support me through the procedure. I was reassured by the consultant and nurses during the procedure and also the nursing staff in recovery were amazing. Immaculate, kind and caring team. Thank you for making such an unpleasant time more bearable for me.

Very good experience in this hospital - They managed to fit me in for a colonoscopy at short notice, Dr Laskaratos was fantastic talking to me throughout the procedure making me feel comfortable. All the staff were amazing and the price was reasonable compared to a lot of other private colonoscopys. Thank you again.

I can totally understand why CQC says this hospital requires improvement! Absolutely appalling experience for my daughter who had a colonoscopy and gastroscopy! Having had one myself and taking other family members to Southend hospital for this procedure, I recognise that no patient should be put through the lack of compassion, understanding and empathy at the Chartwell Hospital. I would not have given a 1 star but unfortunately to write the review it was a minimum of 1 star. Please take a look at the leaflet you send out to patients as the information is totally incorrect! Dignity and respect, along with empathy is the minimum that should be expected when under going this procedure.

My husband was due a MRI scan today & when we saw the Southend number on his mobile we knew that a cancellation was going to happen as we had read the Google reviews & couldnt believe a private hospital was only scoring 3.5* on its reviews with the vast majority citing cancelled appointments. On Chartwells glossy website it only posts 5* reviews which must be from their private clients rather than NHS referrals Its a shame the NHS has to use such poor facilities as the Care Quality Commission rated them requires improvementin May 2022, which Im sure many of their clients will agree , the hope the NHS gets the support it requires Gave 1* because you cant post 0 & the caller who called me was polite

My Partner was due a Colonoscopy but was told 2 hours before the appointment that they had to cancel due to not having the equipment. After all the discomfort of taking the laxative solutions and having a sleepless night, and even speaking to them twice on the phone the same morning, where nothing was mentioned. They rang her at 12.30pm to cancel. They must have known earlier whether they had the equipment for a book procedure. Very disappointed.
