Great Wheatley Care Home

This beautiful Nursing home called Great Wheatley Nursing Home in Rayleigh took Great care of my Nanna Mrs Helen Pauline Nicholson Craven who passed away on the 15th December 2022 whom was 86 years old. Sister Phillomena and her Nursing team was so very proffessional kind loving and caring of my Darling Nanna and my family are so very proud of them. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation for everything you are totally our family from this day forward. We won't ever forget you

The manager of this nursing home should not be in care she is rude and has no empathy for the families of the people in her care we was told to go and say goodbye to my dying brother but when we got there she met us at the door and rolled her eyes at us we didn't know we had to prove we had done lft tests and she refused to let us in she had no concern or care for my 93 year old dad who was crying on the door step. She finally let us in with only 30min to say our goodbyes a complaint will be made to the cqc

The manager at this home should not be in care. My step dad came in for end of life and they treated our family disgustingly. I won't go into the upsetting details, but a full complaint will be made. Philamena should remember that these are real people with feelings and not just a 'body' as she called him.

We watched my Grandads health deteriorate very quickly here and hours before he passed, it was revealed his mouth was full of ulcers due to the atrocious levels of care and dehydration. Instead of using swabs, the staff tried using a wet toothbrush, causing more pain....For weeks the manager advised my Grandfather could not wear his dentures as his gums had shrunk. When in fact they gave my Grandads dentures and glasses to another patients widow in error... As other reviews state, the nutritional value of the food was ghastly and we would take in food every day. In our experience Great Wheatley employed staff that only comprehend simple English and they have a sign in reception stating that staff must update the manager of any new convictions... Terrible, terrible place!
