Andy was our advisor during our first buy process through shared ownership. He was polite, and responsive all the time. Our process was easy as we hadn't ILR visa, and we could only get a mortgage from one lender. We applied mortgage around October 22 and confirmed early Dec 22 with high rates. We have been informed we can re-apply any time we would in 6 months period with lower rates, which we expected to get update from mortgage advisor. So, we ended up having %6.49 rate instead of %4.80 It is not %100 their fault but they knew we are going through challenging times and I reminded in the emails several times, if there is update on rates. We didnt know that we have had 11 days cooling off period or we missed this information given to us. And now, after talking with the bank, we realised that we should have applied just after the date we got the property and it would affect 300 cheaper in our monthly costs without paying 3.7k On the other hand, we are recommended to work with Cavendish solicitors, which are also very slow in the process, but I will write in their website instead... So, overall, I don't think it is necessary to work with any mortgage advisor, High street banks are quite responsive as well. I don't feel that I have had advantage of having an advisor.
