I studied Japanese at school and loved it, but have neglected my studies ever since. I'm working for my 3rd Japanese company in a row and thought it high time I got back to studying this beautiful language, and Ayako has been a perfect teacher for rekindling my interest! She is patient, engaging and always willing to answer and explore any questions you may have. I'm kicking myself for not having re-started my studies sooner, as I'm having so much fun, and is doing a great job helping me tease out the knowledge I had previously, whilst adding plenty more :)

I came to Ayako a complete beginner. In fact, I was below the level I should have been to join her class. Ive never had a teacher like her. Genuinely supportive of each students process. She has a special way of teaching that means things stick! She encourages you to want more for yourself which translates to the rest of your life! Within my first term (10 weeks) Ive learned more than I ever thought I would! We have classes on Japanese culture which is so important and set up real life scenarios to practice. I cant wait to test my out on the locals!

I have been teaching myself Japanese using various apps, however in the short time that I have spent learning from Ayako Sensei, I have developed beyond what I thought I would have. My ability to speak, listen and understand Japanese has excelled and taken me to another level. Sensei also adds lots of cultural knowledge, meaning and societal practices that adds richness to your learning experience. Although I had been teaching myself, I was very nervous on my first lesson. This soon disappeared once we got started. I felt a lot more at ease as the lesson went on, I put this down to Ayako Sensei having a warm and welcoming nature. I very much look forward to our lessons, and am excited about new learnings and improving my linguistics of the Japanese language

The Japanese Language Club has really helped me improve my Japanese. My speaking has always been one of my weaker areas, but the focus on speaking has helped me improve my confidence and I've definitely noticed the improvement.

Ayako-sensei is a skilled teacher who works hard to improve her students' Japanese. She is constantly on the lookout for new teaching methods and ways to challenge her students. Her kindness, patience and constant encouragement (as well as the welcoming atmosphere of her classes) mean that such challenges have never felt too overwhelming. She particularly focuses on spoken Japanese, which I find especially difficult, and I feel I have improved noticeably in this area since starting her classes. Sensei, thank you for all your hard work!
