Loft conversion The project manager (Artan) and his team were fantastic. Everything was done to a high standard, they were friendly, considerate and trustworthy. I have never known builders to clean up after themselves so well either! Artan and his work deserve 5 stars without a doubt. However, giving Add a room 4 stars just because of some communication issues. Nothing major, but it was frustrating when we had to chase to find out what was going on. I understand that delays happen, but it would of been less stressful to have kept us informed. Would recommend and use again. We really cant recommend Add A Room enough. To be honest we were slightly worried about having the work done and thought it would be stressful. However, from the first visit from Gary who has been amazing throughout the whole build, it has actually been an enjoyable experience. Artan and his team are by far the best builders we have come across. Artan has been so helpful and wants everything done perfectly. His whole team have been so polite, calm and mindful that we have been living here while the works been going on. We are delighted with our new room; it has made a huge difference to us. A great overall experience. Unable to secure any personal recommendations from friends and family, I took to undertaking my own research for a professional one-stop building company who could take the pain out of home renovations. Having come across Add A Room, I checked out their reviews, which all had a similar theme of customers praising the building teams used by AAR. There were a couple of bad reviews from years ago, but these were clearly relating to another company with a similar name. Having seen an AAR advertising board outside a home on the mother-in-law's housing estate, the mother-in-law didn't need asking twice to go and knock on the door for a verbal reference. This was glowing and they'd been recommended by two local friends. That gave me the reassurance I needed to contact AAR. I was never expecting AAR to be the cheapest, but with all the scare stories out there, I was happy to pay that premium for my own piece of mind. AAR assigned our project to Artan of ATP Construction Ltd, who was an absolute pleasure to work with. Once the project started, Artan and his great team were punctual and very tidy, 6 days a week. Artan was always contactable and responsive. Artan had wider team contacts across all trades, allowing them to coordinate perfectly. Our experience of Artan and his team was outstanding. Our building works began around September, was finished in November and we were decorated and furnished in time for Christmas. For anyone about to commit to a major building project for their home, who doesn't want the stress, risk, time burden and aggravation of coordinating it yourself, I would highly recommend speaking to Add A Room. My advice to myself if doing this again is to think about the small things - where should the lights/switches/sockets be, where are the radiators going, if that door/wall is exactly there does it perfectly fit your furniture, or does it need moving a cm or 2?
