Utterly unprofessional, disgraceful behaviour & only care about their private patients! The first sign of issues was when in 2019 I tried to book an appointment and was told, "Sorry we're not booking any appointments for NHS patients". One of the dentists initially offered to remove one of my wisdom teeth in the surgery, but I asked to be referred for the extraction instead. When I came back, the Principal dentist said that it wasn't even possible to remove in the surgery and I had to be sedated to remove this tooth. The surgery completely messed up the referral and it was returned to the surgery THREE TIMES by the triage team and Southend hospital. They then told me that I had to come in and pay for more X-Rays etc. because they can't send another referral through unless they do them, even though this was their error and not time. The Principal dentist got involved and was so rude and told me that if I don't pay, then she wouldn't help any further and ended the call. I had to get NHS England involved as I had no way forward & this wisdom tooth was continuously causing me a lot of pain, other than to pay for THEIR MISTAKE. NHS England deemed that they were at fault and that I was not to pay for anything, so the surgery submitted another referral and that was done correctly this time. This went on from mid-2019 and I am only having the surgery to take the tooth out in May 2023. However, they decided to remove me from the practice, with no notice of it (I know it's not a requirement that they have to notify me). I tried to contact the surgery manager 5 times, but every time, she was either ill or had finished for the day but "I'll leave a message for her to call you back" every time. She NEVER called back. So if you are unhappy with the surgery & you're an NHS patient, don't make a complaint because you will lose your NHS dentist. I have spoken to NHS England again to follow this up and they have confirmed that there is nothing they can do about this as there are no regulations around removing patients from their books, and that in the current environment, making a complaint might do more damage than good.

After struggling to get an appointment at other dentists, I found 'Smiles on Broadway'. Receptionists and dental staff were kind, reassuring and non judgemental.( I had not attended a Dentist for far too long). The dentist took time and care explaining what was needed. Throughly recommended!

Wonderful, friendly and attentive staff! My son needed and emergency appointment, he was seen the same day for assessment, they managed to fit in treatment for an extraction the same day and filling for the following day, meaning he can enjoy his Christmas dinner! Can not thank you all enough.

Beautiful surgery, sub-standard practice. Received NHS treatment here as a new mother. I had lost a front tooth filling. The replacement was wonky and completely out of sync with the rest of my mouth to the point it affected my bite alignment. Dentist was not receptive to feedback at a later appointment and would not correct it - not that I would have allowed her to have a go at my mouth again. Had to spend 15 mins convincing the receptionist that they had a copy of my maternity exemption certificate which she denied, practice manager got involved and eventually they found it. So pleased to go back to my own private dentist who have corrected the substandard work- it's not worth the savings going NHS if you are submitted to service like this. Now I know why they were the only dentist still accepting patients.
