I had a call confirming my booking and arranging a time to check in, which I thought was a good sign, how wrong was I ? When I arrived there was no answer at the door or from the phone number on the "back in a moment" card on the door. Half an hour later (waiting on the street) a second couple turn up at their arranged time to check in. An hour later a current guest appeared to inform us that the owners were last seen "Going for a a quick drink".
I gave up after this point and got a room at another B&B on the same road. When I checked in straight away I was informed that they regularly get guests from the Gladstone as they have a reputation for double booking.
