Hanah picked up our file quite late on and did a brilliant job making sure we completed on our house before the deadline. We found her to be very efficient and easy to deal with and wouldnt hesitate in recommending her to others or using again. Thanks again.

As a first time buyer, Im sure you can imagine that the process of purchasing a property is quite daunting. I previously had issues with a solicitor that provided a urine poor service, which I felt would not be matched . . . I was wrong. After leaving them, I explained this to a con man of Stillwells who assured me that this is not how they do business and that customer care was paramount to the them. I was allocated the conveyancer and a solicitor for the lease extension ( Steven Wood). The lease extension solicitor was exceptional, he went above and beyond, providing me with information, advice and answering my queries in a timely manner. The conveyancer on the other hand has been the complete opposite. I have not spoken to the conveyancer in over 3 months. I therefore have resorted to emails ONLY as a means of communication as she was furious with me for having the nerve to ask for an update after not hearing from her. (she was continuously having holidays but the reason as to why will become clear later.) I informed them recently that the bank would be retracting the mortgage after 12/08/21. This did not prompt them to contact me or work any faster on my behalf. Obviously I do not want my time or money to be wasted simply because my solicitor is not interested in my business. I asked on three occasions (21.07.21 22.07.21 27.07.21), in worst case scenario if the process should fall through, what cost I would need to pay Stillwell. Considering I have paid a deposit and for my searches, I am yet to get a response. Why they were being so elusive is beyond me. The solicitor who reassured me this would not happen no longer responds to my emails. When I called the con man who sold the service from my office line, he returned the call and when he recognised my voice remained silent on the other line. I hung up and called back and he diverted me. This is the service that I am paying for. I found out my conveyancer was leaving the business so my contract was sped up and completed in 10 days after 3 months of being ignored. On 04/10/2021 I received an email that Stillwells had ceased trading. It would be interesting to know whether they new about this before selling the service. in March. I am proposing that your matter be transferred to my new firm. My aim is to make this process as straightforward and uncomplicated as possible and look forward to continue working with you. I can confirm that my new firm will honour our existing arrangement in relation to the costs of carrying out the transaction on your behalf. Any money we hold for you will be transferred to Nexa without you having to do anything. I will be working from Nexa Laws London office. Responsibility for your work I shall be the person dealing with your transaction. I am a Solicitor. Progressing your matter I will continue to provide you with relevant updates as your transaction progresses. The changeover will be seamless. What do I need you to do? If you are happy for your file to be transferred to Nexa Law Solicitors (and therefore happy for me to continue handling your matter) please email me back to say go ahead or words to that effect. However, if you would prefer to seek alternative representation, please do let me know. I was then called on Tuesday saying that they will no longer represent me. . . . Why?

Having been involved with & reliant on Stillwells Solicitors LLP for 4 months with little to no communication via phone or email, I would recommend you definitely look elsewhere & avoid all the unnecessary delays, hassle & potential chain collapse. Stillwells & in particular Georgia Ferguson, have caused delays to our chain beyond what the other conveyancers, estate agents, buyers & sellers involved can comprehend. I understand conveyancers are obviously dependent on others to provide the information required, but Stillwells have consistently delayed the process through an enormous & almost total lack of communication. Emails and telephone calls from other conveyancers, estates agents & clients simply go unanswered. Whilst not a straightforward process, it is by no means complicated with communication being almost non-existent, massively adding to the frustration of all those involved. Having read the previous reviews, it's hard to comprehend how or why things have become so bad, so quickly. I understand the implications of Covid & the Stamp Duty Holiday had on the industry, but Stillwells have been pinpointed by all involved as the simple reason matters have not progressed week on week, month on month. If it's not their fault, there's no communication as to what is delaying the process & apparently no steps taken to resolve any delays. From my experience, & the experience of others in the chain, other conveyancers get the job done far more easily & efficiently & importantly, actually respond to emails & telephone calls with those involved up and down the chain. Fingers crossed matters improve, but definitely exercise caution when considering Stillwells Solicitors LLP.

My mother in law has received nearly the identical poor service from Stillwell Solicitors LLP as Brian. She started the process of purchasing a property in April and has still not completed due to the sheer lack of competency from Georgia and the team. Emails and calls ignored. When communication has been made, theyve been dishonest with what action has been taken. Extremely disappointed is an understatement. I would strongly recommend you stay well clear of this company if you dont want to lose out on your dream home!
