Oh deary me I was not aware Southampton has opened a new crematorium - this one is certainly unique! Its for teeny tiny things, like potatoes and fishy bits. Oh lets not get started on the more than tanned eggy sausage in batter! All in all the food (chicken burger/sausage in batter/chips) was not assembled well- burger looked like it had been wrapped in my Nans hanky & put in her handbag whilst she nipped down the bingo. The batter on the sausage, best described as a savoury eggy blanket in which our little crispy sausage had been laid to rest. RIP sausage- amen. The man was kind & jolly, I felt sorry asking for a refund- needs must! He gave me some chips for free- instructing the fryer person to go careful. I was excited. Alas the second coming did not move me. Burnt, old tasting potatoes & unpleasant once again. Please Mr Phat sort it out, we want to love you and your chips I live in hope.,,

Got a cone of chips and a sausage for a little comfort food, chips were cooked beautifully and so was the sausage, not too greasy either but just right! Super friendly and lovely staff, 5/5

I visit Southampton on business often and if I stay in the Travelodge I use this chip shop as it's close. The staff are always super friendly and polite which I like, the food can be a bit hit and miss, last one whole cooked ok everything tasted burned, problem with the fat maybe. But it's reasonably priced and on the whole it's ok for a quick meal.

This place used to have great chips and was well organised. The last few times, the chips are dry/stale, the curry sauce was almost peanut butter thickness (nuked), batter (on the vegan sausage at least) was stodgy, and most recently we got the wrong pie too (which we're hoping was still vegan). Is there new management? I think I'll leave it a few weeks and give this place one last go to see if they get back to normal. Honestly gutted. Vegetarian options: Good vegan options
