The worst customer experience I have had in some time. Empire Doors fitted a number of roller shutter doors for us a few years ago, and we have spent considerable money with them since on maintenance and repairs. We contacted them one morning as one of the doors was stuck open. Spoke to a nice enough gentleman (sorry cant remember his name), who said that he was out of the area on a job and the rest of the team were on a job where they could not use their mobiles, so to call them and leave a message, which we did, and someone will be down before the end of the day. He warned that it might not be until 7pm. No problem we thought, happy to stay on, but obviously it was essential to get the door closed due to security. Roll on to 4.30pm and I thought I would give them a call to see if there was an ETA. A delightful* man called Dave answered. Explained the situation, and how we had spoken to his colleague earlier that day. "We wont be able to get out today" was his response (despite the sign on the door saying 24hr call out). I explained that I wish we had known this earlier as there is now only 30 minutes of the day left and a door stuck open. He then transcends into a barrage of abuse saying 'Let me tell you' we dont have a contract with them and he's been working all day without access to a phone. I said I know that, and that's absolutely fine, its only that your colleague said someone would be down today, and we are now in a situation of having a 10ft square opening to the side of our building. "Well, you best speak to him then Hopefully Dave had got out the wrong side of bed that day and is not usually how he speaks to customers. However, speaking to others afterwards, they too have found him...'slightly less friendly' shall we say. The extra star was for the first man we spoke to, who was fine. I know how the world works, and would totally understand if they couldnt help, its not reasonable to expect someone to be sat their waiting for you all the time, but that is no way to speak to anyone on the phone. *Not delightful at all

When I needed help with a broken shutter, Dave was really helpful and came and looked at it quickly even though I know he was snowed under with work. Excellent service and helpful attitude. Highly recommended
