Just had my first contact with this surgery since joining. The clinician was so rude! He didn't listen to me or have any interest in my needs. He had an attitude from the get go. I'm grieving and have mental health problems and don't drive. He kept insisting I couldn't take a copy of a letter to Bitterne and must take it to Sholing despite this. When I asked why Bitterne couldn't pass the info on he said they could but it would take a couple of days and it was easier to take it to Sholing .Despite me explaining how difficult that would be for me and I can't get there today anyway. He was talking to me like I was a small and stupid child...I'm in my 50s. I tried to explain my situation. He said he couldn't see an e consult, but there must have been one because they phoned me.I ended up hanging up in tears. I'm scared now that I've made a big mistake His attitude was appalling. I wish I had read the reviews before changing surgeries. I hope this was a one-off and the rest of the staff are more interested in the patients' needs than this rude, unhelpful man. Thanks for the response. But that is exactly why he should have listened. I told him that I couldn't get to Sholing. If he hadn't cut me off, he would have known I couldn't get there until Thursday (this was on a Friday), so Bitterne was way quicker. I got a response on Monday. He didn't say it would take longer. He said it wasn't possible to take it there as they only dealt with certain things. I asked "can't i take it to Bitterne, i don't drive, and im grieving and have anxiety," he responded. "No, you have to bring it to Sullivan rd." When i asked why I couldn't, he informed me Bitterne only deal with certain things. It was only right at the end of the phone call that he conceded that it was, in fact, possible to take it there, but it takes longer than bringing it to Sholing and it is easier to bring it to Sholing. If he had allowed me to finish speaking he would have known in my case that wasn'ttrue. . He was rude and unpleasant and only interested in his agenda. I was crying, and he just scolded me like I was a difficult child, all because I wanted to explain why I wanted to go to Bitterne. He just kept repeating i couldn't take it there, and I was making it difficult. Even 6 the end of the call, he kept saying it was easier to go to Sholing, but not for a working, grieving, non driving me, it wasn't. Not interested in hearing my needs or what i wanted. Luckily, the woman on reception at Bitterne was lovely and made me feel more human as I was still crying my eyes out when I got there. I haven't been treated that way since I was a child. He needs training on listening to the patients' needs . UPDATE 26/4/23 So far since my initial experience, it's only fair to say that I've had no problems. I've not had an appointment yet, but several prescriptions, with no problems. The staff have been helpful and receptionists are very helpful too. Am upgrading from 1 to 4 stars, hopefully my initial experience was a one off.

Been with this surgery since it was Bath Lodge then they merged & moved to this place, all to receive a larger budget (s) but the service suffered as they cant adequately cope with the increase in patient numbers. Couldnt wait to leave here after belonging to since childhood. Dreadful service, if this was a private business, it would have gone bust ages ago.
