Using a low-cost counselling service is like using a low-cost scourer. It may do the trick but may be totally useless and leave marks on the dishes/pots etc. Trouble is if you do use low-cost counselling chances are you will meet a friendly volunteer who is willing to help but in reality is not even qualified or just qualified without experience of how to deal with the state of your mind. If they get it wrong you strongly risk marking your mind with permanent scars. It really is not worth taking the risk. You won't know until too late. Damage a saucepan you buy a new one. You can not buy a new brain. So after 1 session I could see that all the information I was being fed by the counsellor (I won't use her name as that is unfair) was just in effect quoted from various websites. Use Google yourself & learn about your own condition instead of being fleeced 20/week - which you have to pay upfront by bacs transfer as a donation (!!). Don't waste your time on these people. Either await nhs free help or pay proper counsellors or talk to a friend or simply use the internet free resources.

Just be aware that not all the counsellors are actually qualified here. And you make a "donation" via an invoice direct to the charity (also a company too) & not to the counsellor so you pays your money & take pot luck. Some "counsellors" are students or graduates & may not have the knowledge to actually help you. Or could indeed make you feel worse! Not saying the staff do not do their best, but facts are facts. Also, look out for them wanting you to buy a SO:LOTTO ticket. Hardly appropriate for a counselling service.
