AVOID SOUTHAM CHIPPY!! Bought mine and my sons dinner from southam chippy tonight only to find a bug on my chips!! After offering me a full refund on the phone I took the food back to get accused of being a bug catcher and putting it on the food myself I went in polite and in the back (where food was being prepared) to be away from other customers to get this resolved to find an extremely rude manager who couldnt have a civil conversation. The female manager also present also told him to calm down as he was becoming angr, throwing his arms about. Then he refused to give a full refund that I was promised on the phone from the female manager. All I wanted was to eat my dinner that I asked for not with a side of bugs

Always knew this place was awful but thought I'd give it another try as it's been a few years since my last visit. How on earth is this place worse than it was when it was so bad before? Service was awkward and the lady was very grumpy, I felt like I was inconveniencing them even though I chose food that was already cooked from the counter. Fish cake was dry, crumbly, tasteless and fell apart as soon as it was touched. The chips were covered in pieces of batter (I didn't mind at first, used to love "batter bits" on my chips as a child) but these were a result of the oil being filthy and the were little pockets of disgusting grease and oil, not yummy crunchy pieces of batter. Would have been nice to have been asked too! And the best part... 2.00 FOR A SCALLOP! 2!!!!!!! Overpriced, filthy, smelly and rude staff. Please trust the reviews, it really is that bad.
