The Potting Shed

We woke up to this view as we ate breakfast at the Potting Shed. Such a comfortable night with our 2 "cavvies" leaving their bed for the comfortable dog blanketed couch! They had also accompanied us to the local pub for supper and enjoyed their treats. A wonderful welcoming and relaxing few days in this tranquil spot on the edge of Dartmoor. Thank you Julia .

We stayed at The Potting Shed for 3 nights in September 2019 and it just simply wasn't long enough! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by Julia and of course the lovely Moss! The garden where The Potting Shed resides is delightful, with beautiful flowers and a veg patch and the additional bonus of views to open countryside on the left and the moor on the right. The accomodation was perfect for us two adults and our elderly Irish Setter ( he especially enjoyed his own enclosed garden!) and was extremely well appointed with lots of lovely extra touches such as condiments, biscuits - both human and canine - and a games box which we made use of on our first full day as it rained! To be honest - the rain did not bother us in the slightest - in fact, it was rather interesting to see the many light changes over the moor as the day progressed and the following day we were blessed with sunshine and made the most of it by walking in the morning and then soaking up the ambience in the two pubs which are within easy walking distance. All in all a lovely stay and I wish we had been there for longer!

My partner, my dog and myself had a fabulous time in the most beautiful bit of countryside. The potting shed was just the right size and had everything we needed. The only noises came from the rhythmic munching of the sheep in the next field. The pub did excellent meals in and wonderful takeaway pizzas and welcomed my dog. The host struck an excellent balance of being on hand and letting us discover the landscape. It was a beautiful relaxing week. I would thoroughly recommend it!
