Mundy Arms

We visited the Mundy Arms after meeting with family at Markeaton Park for a catch up. My dad had his dog and I had my young toddler with me. The pub is warm and welcoming with a friendly team. We visited on Easter Sunday so they were only serving their Easter Sunday menu. For a chef and brewer, Ive never seen this before (just a new one for me as Im more acquainted with the other brands within Greene King). My toddler shared some of my meal as hes not got quite the appetite for a whole meal but we had another child on the table who ordered from the kids menu. All the food was served quickly and was lovely. However there were a couple of downsides to our visit. Despite bringing some books of our own, to entertain my son with, the kids menus were taken away and we were left with crayons but nothing to colour on. (Apparently there was colouring in on the kids menus). The other small issue we had was that the childrens dessert was served late (nearly all the adults had finished theirs). She was given an extra flake and the staff were very kind about it all but usually the kids desserts are served first to save them waiting? Id still recommend here, though as I live in Worcestershire, itll be a while before Im able to return!

Sticky table, cold food, watery meat, food not freshly cooked, puddings cold, sundae not made properly, however staff friendly and helpful. We were very disappointed as we do eat at other chef and brewer in other locations.
