Really decent course and well worth the 15 odd a round during winter. Definitely a bit soft in places and a few small areas need attention but never the less a thought provoking challenging course. Guys in the pro shop always friendly and whilst facilities are a little lacking (nets/putting green) it is still one of my go to courses. Afternoons are probably the best to play as the morning/lunch seems pretty full.

Really disappointed to have to play off of an old, muddy, poor quality mat with no ability to put a tee in it for 18 holes. Greens also in poor condition with bobbles happening on every green. Also very muddy all round with buggies being allowed out despite heavy rain yesterday. Reason for two stars is that there was a starter marshal, the course is genuinely challenging and relatively interesting, foamy ball washers on most tees and a nice putting green which matched the speed of most greens. Overall, okay course and probably better in summer. But wouldnt come back in a hurry. Certainly wouldnt want to be a member playing off mats every hole for most of the year.

Positives - Marshall on the first tee to make sure people going off on time, ball cleaners working, OK practice facilities Negatives - off the mats still, mats in poor conditions Greens are awful, so many bumps and not well kept, putting is a guessing game Fairways and most of the course is in boggy conditions & heavily used Messaged in the lead up to playing about membership costs etc and couldn't even get a reply, emailed twice, lack of interest For cost, not worth it, much better courses in Essex for less

Great course with a decent variation of hole lengths, nice undulations and a good mix of traps and hazards. Greens all ran very consistently and were quick given the recent weather. Members and players were all very chatty and friendly. I played as a one ball visitor and a two ball swapped their tee time with me to get me out ahead of them and a four-ball. Was offered to play through by two four balls in quick succession and had a nice chat with some of them off the tee box of one of the holes. All of the players I met were very polite and friendly. Would highly recommend the course and will be going again!
