We had a meal here after our wedding. There were 10 of us and they arranged for us to have a private area to celebrate. All the staff, especially Tilly, did an outstanding job looking after us for 4 hours. The food was amazing, served hot and well presented, chilled champagne on arrival and the cocktails were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and every request was catered for. They made everything perfect for us and we appreciated the gift as we were leaving. Thank you! Parking: Easy free parking available.

Loved the setting, the food and service - efficient and friendly. Apparently this pub is the oldest 'Nag's Head' in Britain, and it looks great. For starters and mains - which were very good - the experience was enjoyable. However by the time we got to desserts, we noticed a pervading smell of sewer or stagnant putrid water, which somewhat spoilt the enjoyment of good dishes. I also noticed from recent (and now so recent) reviews, that this problem had already been highlighted. Seems it's not been sorted at all, which is a real shame - and please don't try to give excuses, if you wish customers to return it is absolutely imperative that the owners / managers of the place invest good money to undertake necessary repairs. This gastropub and its customers deserve better.
