I sadly lost my fiancee in November 2022, it was sudden and I was in shock. He had a Dignity Funeral Plan, and from the moment I contacted Peter Johnson they were all SO lovely and were only too happy to help me with all the questions I had to ask them. We have just had my Dads funeral today, conducted by Peter Johnson at Whiteleas Way. I have nothing but praise for the staff here. Kay was our funeral arranger and she has been so professional, kind and calm. Nothing has been an issue for her despite me feeling a nuisance at times. Jamie the funeral director was also very reassuring and kept things on track. Massive thanks to the humanist celebrant Ian Hunter who made our day with his brilliant portrayal of Dads life. All in all, what could have been a very sad and bland day, has turned out to be still sad at times, but overall, a fine celebration of a good man. Many thanks.

During the pandemic Johnsons handlers funerals very poorly compared to other funeral directors and as you only have one funeral, I cannot forgive them, despite the fact my father didnt pass away from covid and didnt have covid they said they wouldnt embalm him (other funeral directors were embalming at this time it wasnt a law or a rule/restriction at the time, it was a choice) We were also told we could only have ONE visit during his 2 weeks at the chapel of rest as they would only open the coffin once, they made us sign a disclaimer to say that we accept the body would be basically in a very bad way due to not being embalmed and that they wouldnt dress him because they wouldnt touch him etc, we were told quite clearly that seeing the body would be very unpleasant to see etc they basically tried to talk us out of seeing him and the whole family said they didnt want to see him (imaging how bad he may look etc) except me and my husband, we went and he looked NO different to someone who had been embalmed! They also HAD dressed him (laid his shift and tie over him but tucked it all in etc) and he looked so beautiful and peaceful there was NO right or reason for this company to behave the way they did during such a difficult time. They stole the time me and my family could and would of had with my dad during his time in their chapel of rest and I will never ever forgive them for this.
