        Looks a lovely beach but don't take your children on it. The council have designated this as a dog beach and it is filthy. This used to be the safest beach for children as it's between the pier's and the sea is usually calm. If you want to have a clean beach for your children, you have to use Sand Haven beach on the outside of the pier. Of course the sea is more dangerous there for swimming. It would appear South Tyneside Council prioritise dogs over children.
