Steel Frame Window Refurbishment

Paul Murphy from sfwr came to my Listed cottage in Sussex to review the original crittall windows. He was punctual,thorough and gave me honest advice as to the best course of action. He recommended a solution that he did not profit from but was much more affordable for me. It's unusual and reassuring that honesty came before profit and would recommend his opinion to anyone. I contacted Paul regarding the refurbishment of three porch windows which were originally installed in the 1920's and had seen better days. Apart from general deterioration problems also included a broken hinge and siezed openers. The windows were removed and taken to Paul's workshop where they were repaired, shot blasted, treated and powder coated to a very high standard looking like new. A problem which occured with one window frame was dealt with decisively by Paul leaving me in no doubt that customer satifaction is a high priority for this company. When I described the problem with my window Paul asked me to send photos. He responded quickly, clearly and in detail, setting out his diagnosis, and explaining how the issue could be resolved. His quotation was acceptable and the efficiency of his response gave me confidence that he would be able to undertake a satisfactory repair. He arrived with his welder at 8.00am in Winchester having travelled from Brighton and the work was carried out to my entire satisfaction. At my request he carried out an inspection of the rest of my widows and advised me on other minor remedial works which might be necessary in due course. Throughout our discussions he was easily contactable, responsive, professional and courteous. Above all he seemed really to know what he was talking about,.
