Wanted to view a property to get an idea of what we are looking for. We were told as were unable to get a mortgage until next year we cant view the property? We may have looked and liked the development and looked to buy in future but we definitely wont be now. Weve viewed other properties without having to speak with a mortgage advisor first. Very odd and good way to lose business. Would like to add we had driven 30 minutes before being rang by the mortgage advisor and told we couldnt view the property.

I bought my first home through St. Modwen homes at the Bennetts Field development and I have not had the experience I was hoping for. As a first time buyer I was excited and that excitement was short lived. After viewing the showhome, we reserved a plot on the development, St. Modwen homes made several changes which they did not inform us of. Most of which were a deciding factors of us choosing to go with them. Changes were made during construction and at time where it was too late for us to pull out of the sale. And we were not provided with a valid and satisfying reason as to why. Seven days after completion is not enough time for someone to find all the snags in a property. The project manager for the site, Pete, looks at you as if you're crazy when you try to raise your concerns with him. He has no empathy and does not know how to deal with a customer politely and with dignity. Since then, we have been passed over to the after sales customer service team that simply do not take the time to properly listen to your concerns. I have been waiting 10 weeks for issues within the property to be resolved even though I was given a timeline of 5 to 6 weeks. Kathy, the customer services manager who promised to come back to me with an update, saw fit to leave me hanging and go on her annual leave. And I am still waiting!
