Disgraceful! The whole point of respite for autistic kids is that their behaviour can sometimes be unmanageable so parents like myself can often get quite burnt out over time and be in desperate need of a rest. Our children also need a change of environment too every so often. So my son was booked in here for respite for 2 days, which they first tried to cancel at last minute but agreed (with persuasion) to do half of it which was 1 overnight stay. Firstly, this in itself was very disappointing, as Id prepared my son mentally for his stay there and had also made arrangements for the 2 days respite. This meant that part of my plans then had to be cancelled at last minute. Then when they did eventually have him, they kicked him out after only 4 hours and threatened to call the police on him to have him sectioned due to his behaviour! I was told that staff had serious injuries from my son but yet he was totally calm upon my arrival to collect him and no ambulance was ever called for Satash staff as there was no serious injuries at all. My son merely scratched the staffs skin (not that I even noticed any surface wounds) and thats basically it!!! More importantly, given how bad my son apparently was, the Manager wasnt even there to help to oversee the situation and support his staff as you would expect. I will never ever recommend this respite service to anyone. Their conduct is literally totally unacceptable, not to mention extremely unprofessional! The Managers are rude and my son was left completely traumatised when he got back home as the way he was dealt with by this service left him totally confused. Plus I lost a lot of money on 3 tickets to an event that Id planned many months before, (totalling 177.00) because of the unreliability of this service. Disgusting.
