Fourteen pounds!!!! To repeat, two sausage rolls and two pasties. 14. They were admittedly quite large items, but fairly unpleasant tasting and really not worth half that price.
I could see no (obvious) price list anywhere, so absolutely should have queried the price before paying. TBH, I was so shocked I just paid and left, feeling quite dumbstruck. Of course, the moment I was out of the shop, it was too darn late to take the food back.
Just to repeat, two pasties and two sausage rolls. Fourteen pounds. 14. This is not a typo.
We visit our friends in North Devon twice a year and always go via South Molton. Needless to say, we'll never step foot in Baker George again. It's Sainsburys for us, every time in future.
Ps I checked online and this company does not advertise their prices there, either - sandwiches seem to be "from" 3, but there is no price stated for anything else. Wonder why...?

Terrible communication (except when they want payment).
The menu wont be the same as the one you agreed and paid for, we had missing items including the centre peice for our wedding which should have been a whole cooked decorated salmon, canaps missing, the vegetarian option was not the same as I agreed for, i requested an evening gluten free box and got 4 finger sandwiches slices for 35.
The Invoice for staff costs was higher than quoted in writing, I requested 2 wait staff and got 1.
The final invoice had several discrepancies on it (as above) I queried twice with no reply, then was told to pay because the staff said the food look good. I queried again. In the space of 13 weeks I received 2 emails back telling to me pay without answering any of my queries from the invoice.
Hannah the owner then told me they could have left me without a caterer on my wedding day as one of her staff members got covid and basically I should be grateful I had a chef.
No acknowledgment once of the issues.
I hadnt yet paid as the invoice wasnt correct.
Hannah stated twice she presumed I wasnt going to pay and quote she had a sneaking feeling about me right from the off.
I received a reduced invoice by 100 telling me I was vile and the rudest customer in her life she has spoken with. Still no reply to any of my queries and still have no answers to the above.
Despite that, I just settled the invoice as I wasnt going to waste any more time communicating with a business who blame their customers, wasnt going to bother to reply to me on any queries and who like to judge their customers willing to give them alot of their money. I asked for a payment confirmation or receipt- Im still waiting.
Dont waste your time, it wont be worth it. And by the time you get any response it will be the following year. Avoid this company- who only cares about getting their money and judging their customers!
