Works fine as a dumb charger. Aesthetically it is OK but the plastics are seriously affected by sunlight. The much-promised software features are in fact vapourware and the app is flaky. Would not recommend.

The device constantly dips in and out of being unable to connect to Hypervolt servers. It says I must my check my Internet. My Internet is fine and everything else in my house connects to the Internet perfectly ok. They have not responded to the customer service queries I have raised on this issue.

There is a hidden flaw that any potential buyer looking at the hypervolt for solar and off peak use needs to know. This is it. You can't set the hypervolt to run a full power overnight schedule and top up during the time the PV is generating. The only way to allow the hypervolt to charge when the sun is up is to either: A) set it to charge your car when there is PV power and only then (I don't know how big your array is but there aren't enough hours of sunshine to do that with mine) or B) set it to overnight schedule at a very slow and throttled pace and it will trigger in the sun. Neither of these scenarios will provide you with enough power to add even 10kw per day. I realise this is a complexity that anyone switching from ICE vehicles to EV probably doesn't understand so trust me on this. If you are buying the hypervolt to take advantage of free solar PV but need your car charged in the morning do not rely on the inbuilt automation. I understand Hypervolt engineers are on the case however the messaging from the marketing department is not clear about how this works.

Nicely designed charger, excellent customer service. They need to but more R&D into solar optimisation.
