We ordered a custom made vanity unit from Kuchen. Worst experience ever. We were told 5-6 weeks lead, it took 6 months to arrive! No replies to our calls and emails from John, the managing director, though the rest of the sales and design team did try to be helpful. In the end, when we finally received it the unit was the wrong size and had the worktop we specifically said we didn't want. We did not receive any apologies or acknowledgement from John regarding the mistakes or the lateness of the delivery, which meant we had to rearrange our plumber three times and pay their call out rates. Would not recommend.

Were really pleased with the kitchen, it looks great and the redesign has created a lot more storage and space in the room. Design and installation work was all great and managed very smoothly. Really appreciated the fact that Kuchen could do everything, and source and manage other suppliers and installers for us. It made the whole experience far less stressful than it could have been. Would definitely recommend! My biggest regret of our lockdown renovation project was choosing to work with Kuchen for our kitchen rather than their competitors. We were promised great customer service, a high quality of finish and a great installation team. What we got was poor contribution to design (they didn't even measure the kitchen properly, which meant we ended up with a broom and mop cupboard we can't even fit a bucket into, and we received close to no advice or help in the planning process); a finish so poor that some of the cupboard doors had to go back three or four times before they came up to standard; extremely variable levels of competence in the fitters (one of them was so incompetent that door handles were fitted at different heights on double doors to a larder cupboard, so those doors had to be replaced as well); poor communication and so many delays and poor pieces of work that our kitchen took over a year from the start of installation to completion. In the interests of fairness it should be noted that Kuchen waived the installation fee, but it in no way compensates for the sheer stress and distress of having to deal with them. I really wish we'd paid another 3,000 and gone to their competitors instead. In response to the points made by Kuchen in reply... They did NOT design the kitchen one person inputted cabinets from my brief into a CAD programme on the computer. He then resigned from the company and was no longer involved in any element of the kitchen planning from that point on. John, Kuchen's owner was not even around at the time of the design, and his statement that two people put a lot of time into the design is a joke. John actually admitted that he should have come and measured the wall to confirm the builders' measurements, but had not done so. Therefore the fact that the cupboard did not fit was entirely down to Kuchen's lack of attention to detail. The kitchen has now been finished to a high standard, but only because I drew attention to the various problems with the quality issues. No quality control was done by Kuchen on the units at any point in the process (hence the need for up to four versions of some of the doors). And, anecdotally, every time a fitter arrived (almost always someone new, who had not been properly briefed) they would tell us that we were far from the only clients who'd had huge problems with their kitchens and whose fittings had dragged on for over a year. Obviously, I'm not in a position to confirm this, but it tallies with our experience. Covid inevitably caused delays, but the year it took to complete the kitchen had more to do with the repeated need to fix problems either in the quality of the units or their doors, or the poor standard of fitting. As an aside, I caught Kuchen posting positive reviews from their employees part way through the process, and when I drew attention to this, these reviews vanished. Earlier this year we had a major kitchen and extension renovation. We engaged with Kuchen at an early stage and they were very professional in the formative planning and product choosing phases. The kitchen is now complete and we are delighted with the quality and finish. John is clearly a very busy and passionate provider of quality. When there were bumps in the road they were dealt with ultimately to our satisfaction. We would definitely recommend Kuchens product range. Service: Remodeling
