Urban Context helped us to submit a listed building consent application for internal structural works. Ian went above and beyond to help us through this process - constantly giving us advice and thoughtful suggestions. Couldn't recommend his services more.

We were looking to extend our 2 bed semi detached house in South London by knocking down the garage and building out fresh over that side, whilst also digging out the front garden for a street level drive. Ian was great at talking us through what would be involved and getting the plans drawn up and approved first time during a particularly busy time for the local planning department. Would highly recommend for anyone who is looking to maximise the space you have available in a way that can is respectful to the original architecture but with modern touches

Urban Context Architects have recently completed a number of projects for my company including the conversion and extension of three, four storey terrace properties in South London into 7no apartments, three retail units and a B1 office. Other projects include a feasibility study for the reuse of a redundant garage site to create new apartments and the extension of a 4 bed house. Urban Context produced innovate solutions to complex sites and successfully managed the projects, working closely with me at all times

I employed Urban Context to refurbish my 1960s flat in Crystal Palace which was rather dated and rundown. The architects suggested creating an open plan living, dining and kitchen space to take advantage of the view from the picture windows in the living room. A new kitchen and bathroom were installed and the flat was redecorated throughout in a simple style in keeping with the style of the contemporary post-war building. I worked closely with the architects, who obtained building regulations approval, helped me appoint a contractor and managed the building works for me. I am really pleased with the result.

Urban Context ArchitectsAs Director of English in Margate, a private English language school, I commissioned Urban Context Architects to undertake feasibility study to convert and extend the existing college accommodation on a tight urban site. The school has recently seen an increased demand for its courses and additional teaching space is required. The Architects developed an innovative response to converting, extending and rebuilding the existing listed buildings and worked closely with the School, Local Authority Planning and Conservation Officers and Building Control to obtain planning permission and listed building consent.
