I had a full service and MOT. I was given a list of repairs that needed doing to pass the MOT. They quoted me 220 to do the repairs and suggested another garage to fix a 'severely buckled' offside rear wheel. I rang the next day to clarify which wheel needed fixing as the MOT failure stated 'badly distorted wheel' nearside rear and offside front. I was told the MOT failure would be fixed with 2 new tyres and given an explanation as to why this was. I went to the other garage to get the buckled wheel fixed...to be told it wasn't buckled and there was nothing wrong with it! A different wheel was buckled and he fixed that, as the guy thought Adam had noted the wrong wheel - offside instead of nearside. I got the wheel fixed that day, rang D&O back to book in for the rest of the repairs and a re-test for them to say they couldn't fit me in within the 10day retest period but if I'd had the buckled wheel fixed they would pass it. I queried this again as the MOT paperwork said it had failed on 2 badly distorted wheels and I had been told these would be fixed with new tyres but was told if the 'buckled' wheel was fixed, it would be passed. Went back to get the retest to be shouted at by Adam that I hadn't had both wheels fixed... I told him what I had been told on the phone, for him to continue shouting at me. The receptionist apologised that I was given the wrong information and I was sent off to get the other wheel fixed. I then went back to the other garage where the guy agreed that the original, noted MOT failure of badly distorted wheels would be fixed with new tyres and also that the severely buckled wheel was noted down on the correct side but didn't actually exist. I took my ex husband with me to get the retest (for the 2nd time) and he couldn't have been politer to me...even to the point my 11year old daughter commented on the difference in the way he spoke to me going alone and then going back with a male. I got the pass on the retest and was then told the things they had previously told me I needed to fix to get through the MOT needed to be done before the next MOT... next year. Fair enough I do need 3 new tyres but the corroded brake pipe and brake fluid change... they don't actually need doing. There's nothing wrong them. They were recommended to me but I would never go back. 220 for repairs that didn't need doing to get through the MOT and shouting at me in reception in front of several other customers. No thanks!
