Grade 2 listed. Erected by the architects Gordon and Gordon in1907 due to the rapid population rise from 1901 because of the influx of new industries and tramlines. On the corner of Woodville Avenue and Acton High Street. An imposing Northeast square turret facing the road. With high up windows just below curious Edwardian Gothic embattlements which top the tower. At it's base there is an arched entrance doorway and more windows. The entire church is faced in rubble. This style is Free Gothic. Has a 2nd wee arched porch door on the right. Internally it has a gallery with intricate Gothic decor and Edwardian Gothic Art Nouveau stained glass windows. Has an Edwardian 3 manual organ built by Grey and Davison (who also built the Buckingham Palace Ballroom organ). Excellent for classical concert recitals which have been held here since 2004. The music reverberates beautifully against the largest unsupported wooden barrel-vaulted ceiling in London. Which unsurprisingly results in fantastically amazing acoustics. The Who's bass player John Entwistle got married here in 1967. One of London's hidden gems! Can be seen from buses coming into Acton High Street from the Uxbridge Road and Woodville Avenue. In close proximity to The Woodlands Park and Gunnersbury Park. Nearest station is Acton Town.
