My Nan was in a care home for about 4 years and she became very unwell and was sent to hospital, the hospital had said she is now at the end of her life and had days left to live and she was being sent back to her care home, the care home said to my uncle the family will not be allowed to visit as she needs to be in isolation so my Nan would pass away without her family that is not right. We got in touch with the manager at Wessex house and she was great and there was a room available and family would be able to visit. My sister meet my Nan hospital transport at Wessex house and settled my Nan in, staff were very welcoming towards my Nan and family, Nan looked lovely and pain free on all visits and on one visit we found the activities lady singing to her which Nan looked as if she really enjoyed it which made me feel so happy and I new at that moment we as a family made the right choice for my Nan. Two family member were able to be with nan holding her hand when she took her last breath which was important to us that she was not alone. We as a family could not of wished for any better for my nan we are so grateful to the whole team at Wessex house.
