They give good hair cuts but close about half an hour before the closing time, so take that into consideration

My regular hairdresser, a Polish lady Barbara Frydrych, works at Snippitz in Aviemore in the Highlands of Scotland. She trained in London and Poland and is among the finest in the UK. At the end of November last, Basia cut my hair, just before I drove 560 miles south to visit relatives, friends and acquaintances I'd not seen in a long time. I was planning to return early January. For various reasons, I've been delayed until this coming April. Over a month ago, I was looking rather like the wild man of Borneo or a Highland cow. My hair grows like broccoli tips. Out of desperation I decided to cut my hair myself. Whilst the top and sides looked tolerably okay, the back was a massacre. Not as bad when I was a spotty teenager, I was despatched by mum and dad to a barber, who not only shaved my hair half way up my scalp at the back, but at a 40 degree angle. Embarrassed wasn't the word. The butt of schoolchums' humour for quite a while. I've never visited a barber's shop in the 61 years since. That is until last Monday. A dear friend, whose husband and son had used Blades Barber Shop in Somerton on a regular basis, suggested I go there to make the best of my bad job. I was immediately impressed by the spacious, immaculately clean shop. I was the only customer there at the time. Earlier it had been busy. I explained my predicament to the charming young gentleman, Bailee, pointing out exactly what I wanted done, which was not to change the style but to tidy up my shambles. Some half an hour later, I could not believe the difference. The Midas touch. This genius made me look human again. Highly professional, friendly, customer focused. No strong chemicals or sprays. No loud musak. Wheelchair friendly. Free car park. I cannot recommend Blades highly enough. Thank you so much.
