The shop from the outside is very appealing. The layout of the shop is very cluttered so it can be hard to manoeuvre a pushchair/wheelchair around the shop. It is a very child friendly shop, there are no trip hazzards. Volunteer's care about their shop and charity but it is a shame that the house keeping does not reflect this and hand sanitiser's are positioned at front entrance and by till area. There is a divider by the till and social distancing clearly sign posted and the new government guidelines sign is obscured by a Christmas decoration. stock rotation is not good because I have been in there and it clearly has changed all the time. The shop is not always clean, the shelves display's are vibrant but a bit cluttered and items are not always easy to find, every inch of the shop has items, pricing structure can be expensive and the quality of items do not justify that. The shop does not cover it's demographic considering that there are loads of families who frequent the shop.

Incredibly rude staff, went in with my girlfriend for about a minute, saw a kids piano toy on the ground and decided to test it out. Tried to play a tune but some of the keys weren't working, especially not at the same time as others being played, this is fine, to be expected from something someone gave to a charity shop for free, however when I looked at the price I was shocked (10 which had already been reduced twice as people weren't buying it). Now given that my usual experience of charity shops has been in Mansfield, and this is Solihull, a vastly posher area, I wasn't too surprised but I decided to privately and quietly say to my girlfriend that in my hometown you'd pay about 50 pence for something of that quality, a fair and factual statement (again not to mention quiet and private). The shopkeeper, who either thought my comment was the emotional equivalent of me grabbing the piano and slapping her around the face with it (am assuming she set the prices) or was looking for any opportunity to show off some quite exceptional hearing no matter how appropriate. Scolded me out with a "if you're not happy with the price, why are you playing with it then? Very disrespectful actually". Very strange that someone in retail has never heard of "try before you buy" which is especially prevalent in the charity shop trade as customers need to make sure second hand items properly work before they buy them. In future I would recommend to this worker that she detach herself a little from the shops items, understands their prices and not act as if she's the CEO of cancer research UK and take less offence to comments that i'm sure are made by shoppers all the time in many shops. Ever been to Primark and wondered why a shirt that usually sells a shirt for 2 pounds is retailing the same quality shirt at 8? Would you not comment this to someone? Or would you keep it to yourself as to not offend any possible 16 year old minimum wage workers who could be walking by at that moment? I promise you they're not the corporate overlords of Primark and don't care, and neither should you. Although if your reasoning for selling a toy piano at a 2000% markup is to give the researchers more money to cure cancer, then I commend you, although these charities don't really put as much money into the actual problems they say they're trying to solve as you would think. Love from Chris
