Superb place to learn karate and train with such fabulous friendly instructors. Our children have been going for two years now, they absolutely love going and have really grown in confidence from it. Would highly recommend. Five stars.

Gary invited me along to a couple of his Karate sessions to sample the training sessions and also to provide Acorns Childrens Hospice with an opportunity for raising awareness of their cause and fundraise at the same time. The first session I attended was the Ruach Shotokan Karate Competition, with participants from far and wide. The event was well organised with seating for spectators, comfort facilities in the leisure centre (toilets, drinks, snacks, ample parking etc.) and a schedule of rounds for the competition all planned out. It was lovely to see the range of ages partaking in the competition (as young as 4!) and the range of body types, as well as the support from renowned judges and Sensei. Even those who didnt win were still given upmost respect and feedback for their continued development. The next session I attended as a participant as a complete novice at Karate! Gary has a clear rapport with the members of the group and again, the age range was vast, as was the skill sets with me on board! Gary was able to coach the whole group, maintain discipline, high levels of enthusiasm and fun. It has opened my eyes to the range of benefit Karate has, from physical health and co-ordination to personal development and confidence, testing memory and meeting and making friends. I was naive to what Karate was all about and thought it would just be fighting each other, but the poise, posture and passion involved is actually relaxing and invigorating at the same time. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Gary and Ruach Shotokan Karate to anyone give it a go and see how your preconceptions change!
