I had Mike come around to my property to see if he could have a look at the trees in the back garden and see if he could remove the dead wood, crown thin or potentially cutting one of the trees down completely. Upon arrival he had a look and when asked if he could recommend anything for where there are patches in the lawn he said "People always ask for more and more work which I do not want to do" he went on to say "I don't need this work, I have my pension and have been told the more I work the more I get taxed". We tried to empathise with him to just get a quote with regards to the trees. He said "I don't have your number or any of your details" implying that we were wasting his time. He ranted that people phone him for work but when it comes to getting there details they do not want to give them. I therefore wrote down all my details for Mike including an address and two phone numbers when he repeatedly said that "time is money". Me and my family felt uncomfortable by his mannerisms and felt he was very unprofessional. When he came back the next week with a tree cutter he continued to argue "time is money" and that he didn't agree to do any other work beyond one tree, when we originally asked about two trees, bearing in mind we didn't instruct him to do the work this was all still at a stage of quoting. I had to finish work early and quickly get back as to respect his issues with wasting time and at the end it all he said "Try and find someone else, if you don't then let me know". Very rude, poor people skills and made me and my family very uncomfortable.
