We stayed at The Patch in February 2020 for my birthday. Even though the weather was cold, the log burner kept the house cosy and warm. The children (2 & 4) loved the house, as did we. The quirkiness and attention to detail makes every room more interesting than the next. The fact that the house is built around an old railway carriage fascinated and amused the children on a daily basis. Even though it was a cold and windy (even stormy) February week, there was plenty to do in the local area. The beach is only a short walk (or bike ride) away, and just up the road is Norfolk Lavender which has a great shop and restaurant. The Sealife Centre at Hunstanton was a big hit, the beach was good there too. The castle at Castle Rising is worth an explore (lots of steps, rooms and corridors), as is the antiques centre at Oak House just at the end of the road. Futher afield was Church Farm at Stow Bardolph, a farm park with an amazing indoor and outdoor area. Closer to home, we did all our shopping at the big Tesco at Kings Lynn, which also has a garden centre, soft play and a cafe. All in all, we loved our holiday and can't wait to return to The Patch.
