I've had Will from Telephone Fault UK terminate 10 CAT6 cables at different locations within the house. Price: After receiving 3 quotes from a range of different Network Engineer and CCTV engineers, Will proved to be the most competitively priced as well as being the most flexible with regards to when he could start the works. Technical Knowledge/flexibility: Will offered the option to come to site within minutes of our first phone call, however also catered to a time that was most suitable for me. Will was extremely clear with regards to what he expected from me and also re-assured me that he would be arriving to site with PPE and uphold the governments social distancing guidance. Before arriving, he advised on what materials I needed to have ready for him to complete the works. Where Will excelled in his flexibility was being able to provide instant guidance when procuring the material by the means of using whats app. This was incredibly comforting, being someone who is not very knowledgeable in the world of networking, having that knowledge within reach made the process very smooth. Upon arriving, Will pointed out that the cable currently installed within the house was intended for outdoor use. Being an outdoor cable, the cable was harder to work with as the cable is thicker and less flexible, subsequently, more time was required than anticipated. However, this did not stop Will from reneging on the price. He continued to work on the cables, methodically until a stable and fast connection was received from every cable. Also, he ensured he cleaned up all loose trimmings from the cables as he made his way round to different points within the home. In addition to terminating the cable, Will also took it upon himself to install a switch, which I had previously purchased, to connect all the networking cables. This was never discussed; however, Will took the initiative to also carry out this work. After Care: This is where Telephone Fault UK excel from their competition. Will offers 2 years guarantee on his works, this is something I have not come across by any other network engineer. Further, for one room I opted for a quad face plate network connection. This was a faceplate I had purchased previously. By having outdoor cables installed within the house, this faceplate, which was secured to the wall, sat slightly proud. Even though the faceplate was secured, Will offered the option if I ever decide to change that faceplate, he would reinstall it for free. Overall: Great value for money, great communication, and a very honest engineer.
