GAIL's Bakery Wanstead

Nice coffee and bibs and bobs to eat but completely non-existent service! In the photo I posted here half the clutter you see in that table was initially in ours from previous customers but no one bothered to come and collect it. The other half was already there so we moved all the dirty plates and utensils from our table over to that one. I find it so disappointing when a place has service that is so subpar, as it can really turn some people off, and doesn't do justice to the good food and drink it actually offers. 3 people were behind the bar but none bothered to relieve us from the clutter so we could enjoy our coffee and snacks. Ultimately, a waiter came after 30 minutes and cleaned the table! It was unbelievable to see such bad service in London in 2023. The Loughton branch is much better!

I go to Gail's quite often. Usually good but the slice of brioche loaf I was served this week was stale.

This was really really busy! But it's clear the staff have handled that before. We were served really quickly. Managed to get a seat inside. And enjoyed a good coffee and some great pastries.

Lovely location and reasonable ish decour inside but overpriced for the food and service you get. Some of the staff can barely communicate with customers and are often slow to seve anyone. There are much better coffee shops/Eateries in the wanstead area.
