We recently purchased a house dating back to the 1600s with serious damp problems. We needed an expert to look at the property and advise us sympathetically how to resolve the problems during our restoration project. Thank God that we found Aaron and SHDR who understand how old houses were designed to work! Aaron, with his assistant Matilda, understood and enhanced our passion to treat the building and its heritage with respect. He opened our eyes to so many things that we were not aware of in the design and build of old houses. He provided us with an excellent and helpful report on how to ensure the building can be restored to how it should be, having had some very unhelpful treatments in the recent past. He has actually saved us a considerable amount of money in identifying unnecessary work that other surveyors had told us was required. As the project progresses we know that we have someone to consult with who truly understands this kind of building and who will help us ensure it will can stand a further 500 years! What modern built property has has a chance of that!

Having suffered from dampness and moisture build up in multiple rooms in our flat since moving in, Aaron was very quick to diagnose the issue, providing expert advise whilst massively helping us keep the financial burden of resolving the issue to a minimum. Aaron was a pleasure to work with, particularly due to his friendly nature and the level of information he provided. He was always at the end of the phone if we ever needed any further assistance and I would highly recommend Aaron to anyone who is suffering with dampness issues.
