Never written a review before but had to take the time to write about my experience at this shocking excuse of a pharmacy. Went in needing the emergency contraception pill (an understandably sensitive request and one where you would expect a degree of professionalism and discretion from the dispenser). The woman Simran asked me a series of questions which is no problem. Problems came when she then asked me my age. I am 28 but apparently this woman cannot tell I am over the age of 16. I asked whether I would need to provide ID and she said no its fine just tell me your age. She then changed her mind and said she would require ID- why the backtrack? was she making this up as she went along? What ID is a 16 year old expected to have - are they meant to carry around their passport with them? apparently this pharmacy is adamant to create barriers for people seeking emergency contraception and for the process to be as lengthy and difficult as possible.After saying I didnt have it on me (I have never heard of anyone being asked to supply ID before in this situation), I then had to search through the pictures on my phone to try find a photo of my ID. I then showed her a clear picture of my driving license which I had previously used to submit to my work, she then stared at it for a good while, then said there was no DOB listed, despite it being clearly there.I told her it was written there in the same format as a standard driving license. Why ask for ID if you dont know how to read a driving license? She then told me the price of the pill, and packaged it up. I pulled out my phone momentarily to pull up my Apple Pay, she then stated you must take this as soon as possible with food then abruptly said are you even listening? Youre so rude can you look at me when I am talking to you. Despite me looking at her this entire time beforehand, this momentary look at my phone prompted her to scold me like a schoolchild? Maybe dont tell someone the price of something if you dont want them to look for payment? I told her I had been listening but was just looking down quickly to get payment, and she retorted with I am trying to give you counselling advice and you not looking at me is rude. Was this really necessary? Surely anyone with decency would just say sorry, did you hear that? rather than retort in such a way. Honestly I couldnt even be bothered to rise to her argument and so I just paid and left. I am definitely avoiding this place at all costs in the future. the fact that this woman was so resistant and hostile for people seeking emergency contraception deserves to be escalated and be reported. They are not fit to run a pharmacy and I fear for any vulnerable person trying to gain access to contraception from there.
